So my boyfriend and I have recently taken up the sport of Paintball. Not only is it good exercise and a lot of fun, but I also found it inspiring for a recent shot. I dressed up my boyfriend like a pro paintballer and photographed him in my makeshift basement studio (it was really just a black sheet tacked to a wall with my Alien Bees set up). Then I took an image I took a few years ago at an abandoned prison here in Atlanta and dropped it into the background.
A few photoshop ticks later and this was the result….
Over the weekend I have the pleasure of being able to photograph my childhood friends wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and a really fun reception. I really enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with my old friends. My brother also was there to play a few songs during the pre/recessional. (you can find his music page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Brock/170585742972225) There are a few images from the wedding below.
This is one of my favorite moments in a wedding. The look on the grooms face when he sees his bride for the first time! Priceless!
Well it has been a long time since I have done any sort of blog, but my plan for this one is to post about photo shoots and new techniques I am playing around with. It should be fun!
A little about me:
I am a 24 year old Atlanta, Ga native, currently working on earning my BFA in Photographic Imaging from the Art Institute of Atlanta. I am very excited because in December of this year I will be graduating and jumping head first into the industry! I come from a family of very talented artists and creative spirits. Growing up they encouraged my love of art and always let me explore the world with an artistic outlook, so when I picked up a camera at a young age my family jumped on board! My father bought me my first SLR, a Pentax ZX30 35mm and asked me to start photographing his band when they played out. It was the beginning of what was to become my passion in life. Since then I have explored many aspects of the industry from darkroom processing to digital illustration. When it comes down to it, if I am creating, I am happy!
With all of that said… Let the fun begin!
